We saved the best for last! Clogherhead to Termonfeckin beach.

My friend Valerie and I picked up the group from scholars and took the scenic route to The Pier, Clogherhead. The sun was shining brightly, making the sea and coast look absolutely stunning. As we rounded the corner towards the pier, there was an excited ‘Aww wow’ from the back seat as the Cooley mountains came into view. I have never seen them so clearly before, with the sun shining down. Breathtaking. After Dawn led the warm-ups with the group, thank you 🙏 we set off.

Simply beautiful. We headed down to the beach and made a quick loo stop where Valerie had everything covered!

We continued on, and then the rain started, but… There’s no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing! … as experienced Nordic walkers, we were prepared! And finally, we arrived at… “TERMONFECKIN” Dawn’s group had seen walks on this lovely beach from Boyne Nordic walks page. They loved the name!

We had lunch at Seapoint golf club and enjoyed some cake at the Beach hut on the way back. I also got to share one of my favorite views, the cliffs of Clogherhead and the village below. I can’t come down from the incredible week of Nordic walking through the Boyne Valley, showcasing Drogheda and its fantastic restaurants, ending with my favorite walk on the East coast of Ireland to Termonfeckin!

Thanks Brendan for the history tour, they really loved it too.

Thank you Valerie for the support and car lifts and to my amazing Nordic walking group for the extra support and warm welcome. Thank you Dawn for choosing Boyne Nordic Walks to show you the best of Ireland’s Ancient East.

If you fancy walking with us, join me during Boyne Valley trails festival.
